Lockdown: Controller’s wife gives palliatives, tasks women on care

Wife of the Controller of Corrections, Akwa Ibom State Command,Mrs. Ogor Oditah had on Monday given palliatives to women in the Barracks in order to cushion the effect of lockdown occasioned by the corona virus pandemic.


Mrs. Oditah who is also the Chairperson, Nigerian Correctional Officers Wives Association (NICOWA) in the State, urged women to be patient and caring to their husbands during this pandemic.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of Corrections in the state ASC1. Ogbajie Ogbajie and obtained by our correspondent in Uyo.

The statement partly reads, “I urge all of you to be a pillar of support to your husbands and families. Also, accept these food palliatives as a token from the Association to help NICOWA members in the State cushion the effect of COVID-19 in various homes.”

She also charged women to be prudent in spending by buying essential commodities that will help them manage their homes very well.

In reaction, some of the beneficiaries took turn to thank the Controller of Corrections, Alex Oditah and his wife for the palliative. They prayed for the nation, that things will go back to normalcy, the overall growth of Nigerian Correctional Service, officers and men in the Command.
