Liverpool ’s unbeaten run in this season’s English Premier League came to an end today as Eddie Nketia scored a stoppage time goal to give Crystal Palace a 2-1 victory over the defending champions.
Crystal Palace made life difficult for Liverpool at the Selhurst Park and just after nine minutes Ismaila Sarr put the home side in front with a right footed shot from close range following a corner kick.
Frderico Chiesa thought he had secured a point for Liverpool when he equalized three minutes from time. But, Nketia ‘s goal was the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Chelsea followed their 2-1 loss to Manchester United with a 1-3 loss to Brighton. The common denominator in both loses was the red card they got.
In the United game their goalkeeper Sanchez was sent off early in the game.
But, today Chelsea was leading by Enzo Fernandez’ 24th minute goal till the 53rd minute when Chalobah was sent off.
The game turned upside down for Chelsea with De Cuyper’s goal in between Welbeck’s brace to give Brighton a well deserved victory.
In other matches Bournemouth scored in stoppage time to secure a 2-2 draw with Leeds United at Eland Road as Manchester City burnt Burnley 5-1 with Erling Haaland scoring a brace towards the end of the match.
