Trouble had started after the lawmakers
raised objection to the letter announcing the
lifting of the suspension of the suspended 27
LGA chairmen.
Acho Ihim, speaker of the Imo state House of Assembly
been suspended.
He was suspended by twenty-one out of 27 lawmakers of
the assembly on Wednesday.
Ihim was suspended after he had adjourned the ongoing
plenary and escaped with the mace after reading a letter
announcing the lifting of the suspension slammed on the 27
Local Government chairmen of the 27 LGA of the state the
lawmakers last week.
Punch reports that Ihim in a bid to frustrate his colleagues
from removing him had to allegedly order his aides to
switch off the generating set supplying electricity to the
complex but the lawmakers who were visibly embittered
with his action spurred to go on with the business of the
day.
Trouble had started after the lawmakers raised objection to

The lawmakers had quoted the order 15 of the house rule
which enabled the lawmakers to contribute to it before the
speaker rules,but Ihim said that no lawmaker was allowed
to contribute to the matter.
The lawmakers were seen putting final touches to the
impeachment notices of the time of filing this report.
