The Chairman, House Committee on Public Service, in Abia State House of Assembly (ABHA), Erondu Uchenna Erondu Jnr has played host to Super Eagles winger, Samuel Chukwueze at his residence in Umuahia, Abia state capital.
In a heartwarming courtesy visit that underscored the close ties between national sports icons and the founder, Igodo Igwe Foundatiom, was marked by praise, encouragement, and a shared commitment to national development through sports.
The member representing Obingwa-West State Constituency in ABHA, further described Chukwueze as a shining example of patriotism and excellence.

The former Director, Enyimba FC, commended the AC Milan forward for his consistent dedication to representing Nigeria on the international football stage.
He said that the Abia-born footballer, Chukwueze has not only brought glory to Nigeria through his footballing skills, but he has also carried the Nigerian spirit with pride and honour in every match he plays.
In his words: “His commitment to the fatherland, despite the many challenges professional athletes face, is both commendable and inspiring.”
He thanked him for using grassroot sports as a tool to curb youth restiveness among Youths in Abia, thus; highlighting the role of sports in nation-building, youth empowerment, among others .
The lawmaker also emphasized the need for increased government support for grassroots sports development, suggesting that investments in young talents could produce more global stars like Chukwueze.
In his remarks, Chukwueze expressed gratitude for the warm reception and acknowledged the crucial role the Uhie-born legislator has play in encouraging athletes, especially at the grassroot.
He said: “It’s always a privilege to wear the green and white of Nigeria,”
“I will continue to do my best to make the country proud, both on and off the pitch.”
Highlight of visit was the presentation of Jersey to the lawmaker, Erondu Jnr.
Chukwueze, who rose to prominence with Villarreal CF in Spain before making a high-profile move to AC Milan, remains one of Nigeria’s most promising football exports. His flair, speed, and technical brilliance have earned him a strong following among fans both at home and abroad.
