Late Mrs Felicia Wabara To Get State Burial —- Ikpeazu

 

 

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has assured that the late Mrs Felicia Wabara, Wife of the former Senate President, Senator Adolphus Wabara would be given a State Funeral by the State Government.

 

Governor Ikpeazu gave this assurance, Sunday, when he paid a Condolence Visit to Senator Wabara at his Country Home at Ohambele, Ndoki, Ukwa East LGA.

The Governor regretted the death of the former No. 3 woman in the country, stating that at this stage of the life of Senator Wabara, he needs his wife with whom he started life.

 

He recalled the strong supportive roles played by the Late Mrs Wabara throughout the different phases of the public service life of the former Senate President from a Council Chairman to becoming Nigeria’s No. 3 Citizen.

He asked Senator Wabara to accept the situation with equanimity and to be strong for his children and grandchildren.

 

The Governor assured that his administration will ensure that the Late Mrs Wabara would be given a State Funeral in recognition of her status and directed the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahiwe to immediately empanel a State Burial Committee for that purpose.

 

Speaking earlier, the former President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Adolphus Wabara thanked the Governor for finding time to come and commiserate with him and his family at this difficult time.

He said that he lost not just a wife but the pillar of his life who stood by him through the developmental stages of his life and provided him support and stability in his public service career.

 

Wabara thanked the Governor for his promise and conveyed the appreciation of his entire family to him and members of his entourage.

 

The Member representing Ukwa East at the State Assembly, Hon. Paul Taribo, Sole Administrator of ASOPADEC, Rt Hon Emeka Stanley, Executive Chairman of Ukwa East LGA, Hon. Chuks Wabara and Chief Chris Nkwonta as well as the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Rt Hon Prince Christopher Enweremadu, the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Chief Okey Ahiwe and Elder Raymond Aliga accompanied the governor on the visit.
