Late Commencement, Low Turnout Greets Abia Local Govt Polls

 

 

 

Voting for the Local Government Elections commenced late in most of the Polling booths across Abia State.

This is contrary to the assurances given by the Chairman, Abia State Independent Electoral Commission,Prof Mkpa Agu Mkpa on early commencement of the polls.

Prof Mpka had yesterday during the commissioning of the Permanent Office Complex of the ABSIEC assured that the materials for the local government elections were ready adding that the commission set to ensure free and fair Elections.

At unit 002, Ward 7,Obingwa, home town of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, voting commenced by 11:48am.

National Ambassador reporter observed that the turn out of voters was low in most of the the polling booths visited.

As at the time of filling this report, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu is yet to cast his vote.
