Jubilation As Tribunal Upholds Election Of Ohafia LGA Chairman

 

Indigenes of Ohafia Local Government Area, today gathered in their numbers to celebrate the Tribunal judgement upholding the victory of Dr Okoroafor Ukiwe as the duly elected chairman of Ohafia LGA.

Our reporter who witnessed the short but eventful gathering at the Evergreen Hotels,Umuahia, said notable Ohafia sons and daughters were seen in their happy moods, giving glory to God over the Tribunal judgement given in their favour.

According to some of them who spoke with the press, said the protracted court case against the chairman of the council by the APC candidate,formed a major distraction to the Ohafia Council boss, adding that now that the petitions have been striked out and judgement given in favour of the incumbent chairman,he would concentrate more on serving the people.

In an interview, an Arochukwu/Ohafia Federal Constituency Aspirant for the forth coming election,Chief Sam Anya (Omere Abia Jioyi 1), commended the Tribunal panel for upholding the victory of Dr Okoroafor Ukiwe,as the elected chairman of Ohafia LGA.

According to Chief Sam Anya,the victory was well deserved, adding that the people of Ohafia LGA is very happy with the chairman, who he said has made tremendous efforts in bringing development to the area, inspite of the protracted court case.

Chief Anya further promised that if elected into the House of Representatives,he would attract infrastructural development,improve on the lives of the people and invest on capacity development.

He said it is time for him to contribute to the development of Arochukwu/Ohafia federal constituency,as past representatives have made immense efforts to develop the constituency.

Chief Anya, however, expressed optimism that the People’s Democratic Party would take over power at the centre, lamenting that the government of the APC had brought pains and penury to Nigerians,hence the urgent need to unseat them come 2023,while commending the Abia Governor,Dr Okezie Ikpeazu for face-lifting Abia interms of development,which he said has made Abia to remain a PDP state and as well, necessitated the Tribunal victory of the various LGA chairmen in the state.

Also, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Transport,Chief Eme Ndubuisi(Ocha Nwa),stated that the tribunal judgement in favour of the Ohafia LGA Chairman, further shows that Ohafia is PDP and come 2023, they will deliver all PDP aspirants from House of Assembly to House of Representatives,Senate and Governorship.

Chief Ndubuisi, however, congratulated Dr Okoroafor Ukiwe and the good people of Ohafia over the court judgement, while commending the governor of the state for including Ohafia indigenes in his government.

Meanwhile, the chairman of Ohafia LGA,Dr Okoroafor Ukiwe, expressed joy and gratitude to God for the victory.

According to him,it has been 16 months of court case,stating that the judgement finally reveals that the people of Ohafia actually casted their vote for PDP.

He said even though the protracted court case formed a major distraction to his government, he never deterred for once in delivering on his campaign promises.

“I have been able to deliver on my agenda inspite of the court case. Now that the case is over,i will deliver more dividend of democracy to my people”.

He further called on the people to remain law abiding and continue in their support for PDP.
