Jubilation;as Pastor Okenwa of Winners Chapel,celebrates Golden Age!!

 

It was a moment of thanksgiving and praise to God,as the Resident Pastor,Living church Umuahia,Pastor Nwagu Okenwa turns fifty.

The event which took place at the International Conference Centre, Umuahia, had in attendance dignitaries, including the Deputy Governor of Abia state,Sir Ude Oko Chukwu,the former Deputy Governor of the state,Rt. Hon Eric Acho Nwakanma,pastors across the state and beyond, Government appointees both past and present, Permanent Secretaries,Deacons and Deaconesses among others.

In his sermon captioned “Redeeming the Time”, with references from the books of Ecclesiastes chapter 3 verse 1; Colossians chapter 4 verse 5; and Ephesians chapter 5 verse 8,the State pastor of Living Faith Church,Kano,Pastor Agi Emmanuel, x-rayed the essence of time and the need to make judicious use of our time.

According to Pastor Emmanuel, time does not grow old or expire, unlike man that grows old and eventually exit, praying that the celebrant continues to be impactful as he goes through life’ s journey.

Speaking with newsmen,the former Deputy Governor of the state,Rt.Hon Eric Acho Nwakanma,said he left his busy schedule to come and celebrate with his friend,Pst Okenwa,whom the Lord has shown kindness.

 

While congratulating Pst Okenwa for his 50th birthday celebration,22nd wedding anniversary and the launching of his book captioned “Emotions are not Enough”, the former Deputy Governor,prayed God grant the celebrant a higher dimension of the knowledge of the spirit, as well as strength to always push the work of the kingdom.

The Associate pastor of the Headquarters Church, Pst Uchegbu Ugochukwu,who expressed gratitude to God for sparing the life of the celebrant, described the state pastor as a ‘Gospel Icon’.

According to Pst Ugochukwu,the celebrant is one man that is passionate about God and His kingdom and would always want to see his flock flourish.

He revealed that the caring nature of Pst Okenwa,as well as his spiritual disposition,is so endearing,such that he leaves no one he meets without an impact,this top notch quality,Pst Ugochukwu disclosed,has increased numerical strength of the churches across the state.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Information, Deaconess Caroline Igwe, thanked God for the life of the celebrant and most importantly,for giving him the grace to overcome the challenges of life.She prayed God to beautify,preserve and sustain him, as well as, grant him long life filled with the manifestation of God’s power.

For the celebrant’s first daughter,Ms Divine-Favour Nwagu,lauded the humility of his father, saying that apart from being hospitable,the father can take selfless sacrifices to put smiles on people, recounting the father’s efforts in making sure she graduates with good grades from Covenant University.

Ms Nwagu stated that the father is not lagging behind in carrying out his fatherly roles, unlike some other pastors who would barely have time for their family because of the demands of the ministry.

She wished the parents an unending love,as they celebrate their 22nd wedding anniversary and the father,more fifty years of excellence,greater heights in ministry and also international recognitions.

 

However,the celebrant,thanked God for keeping him thus far and for making him an Elder, saying that his pastoral anointing plus his Eldership status, would not only bring blessings faster to his flock,but would stick blessings as he speaks.

Pst Nwagu while narrating his life’s journey, said challenges came but he didn’t notice them, because when the joy of the Lord is in you, obstacles become miracles and trials become triumph.

He added that God constantly and consistently create an escape route to challenges,as He would not allow you to be tempted more than your ability.

Nwagu further urged christians to always speak the truth,tell the truth and live in the truth, if they must live long.

Earlier, the Deputy Governor of Abia state,Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, in his speech, congratulated the state pastor of the Living Faith Church, Pastor Nwagu Okenwa,on the celebration of his 50th birthday anniversary, 22nd wedding anniversary and his Book launch, describing the event as a remarkable miletone and celebration of God’s faithfulness and goodness,which he said, calls for thanksgiving to God.

 

 

The Deputy Governor used the ceremony to appreciate the Pastor of Winners Chapel , Pastor Okenwa, for all he has been doing for the state, since his assumption, especially in upholding the Government and the people of the state to the throne of God, which he revealed, has enabled the state to enjoy relative peace and massive development in all sector.

He prayed God to grant him many more years of good health to continue to serve in God’s vineyard, as well as make positive impact to humanity.

Sir Ude Oko Chukwu, however, commended the cleric for putting up thoughtful and soul refreshing messages in his book,for the benefit of mankind, praying God to continue to flourish and bless his marriage and ministry.
