Former Leicester City hit-man, Jamie Vardy has signed for Serie A club Cremonese, marking a new chapter in his career. The 38-year-old striker, who scored 200 goals in 500 appearances for Leicester, says he feels fit and ready to prove critics wrong.

Vardy joins a growing list of veteran players in Italy’s top flight, including Kevin De Bruyne and Luka Modric who were 34 and 40 years respectively

“For me age is just a number,” Verdy told news men, “As long as … my legs are doing exactly what they used to and still feel as fresh as they do then I will carry on”

Meanwhile, Cremonese have made a strong start to the season, winning their first two matches against Sassuolo and AC Milan. They currently sit third on the Serie A table with six points.
