Lagosians who happened to be around the popular CMS bus stop in Marina, Lagos–Island, watched with bated breath Thursday afternoon as world-famous slackliner, Jaan Roose, walked on right rope to the astonishment and bewilderment of onlookers.

 

Jaan Roose, an Estonian Guinness World Record holder is being bankrolled by high-end energy drink maker, Red Bull. Red Bull is in collaboration with the Lagos State government through it’s Lagos Safety Commission to embark on a project that will showcase the beauty of Lagos and capture ultimately what they captioned the Perfect Lagos Selfie.

This hair-raising project spans from the Sterling Bank Towers in Marina Street to the Onome rig in Lagos Lagoon; traversing roads and rail lines.

 

Slacklining, an Extreme and largely unknown sports in this part of the world has generated “extreme” furore in Lagos, nay Nigeria. It is an adrenaline- and hair-raising sports with balance training and moving meditation at it’s core. While many savored the spectacle from adjourning locations, especially from their skyscrapers, a lot of eye-witnessses saw it as showboating in the midst of penury and called for the immediate arrest and prosecution of Jaan Roose for breaching public peace and causing their adrenaline to spike.
