The battle of Nigerian brothers between Alex Iwobi and Calvin Bassey for Fulham and Ola Aina for Nottingham Forest in the English Premier League ended in favour of Fulham.
It was Super Eagles defender, Calvin Bassey that scored the winning goal, which was his first goal of the season and Fulham’s first win at the Craven Cottage this year.
The home side took the lead in the 15th minute when Adama Traore’s curled pass towards that back post found Emile Smith Rowe, who headed in.
Eight minutes to the break Chris Wood’s effort deflected off Calvin Bassey and hit the back of the net for Forest’s equalizer.
With this victory, Fulham climbed to eighth place on the table while Forest remain third on the table but just three points above Pep Guardiola’s side who are now comfortably fourth after hammering Newcastle United 4-0 with new signing Omar Marmoush scoring a hat-trick within 14 minutes in the first half.
Substitute James McAtee put the icing on the cake with the fourth goal in the second half.
Brentford disunited West Ham United by a lone goal as Bournemouth crushed bottom placed Southampton 3-1.
Aston Villa and 10-man Ipswich settled their encounter 1-1 while Arsenal defeated stubborn Leicester City 2-0 in the early kick-off.
