The Rivers State Commissioner Of Finance Fred Kpakol said it is laughable to hear the African Action Congress AAC candidate Biokpomabo Awara claimed that he was winning the last Saturday’s election.
” I am very surprised because the name of the party is not even known. His own name is not also known in politics. He does not even have a campaign office anywhere. He is coming to tell lies that he won. Where did he win, where did he get the vote from, in which Local Government did he win, which House Of Assembly did he win, how may House of Assembly people does he even have in different places that won the election for him.
It is not a question to go to radio to talk, or people coming to tell lies. When did he win? People don’t even know him, and they have not seen his poster” he stated.
The Commissioner is also seeking for justice over the alleged assault on him by the military and police at the INEC collation center at Gokana Local Government Area in last Saturday’s Governorship and State Assembly Elections in the state. Dr Kpakol said he was refused entering to the collation center as the PDP agent for the Governorship Elections, after the military and personnel of the anti kidnapping unit of the police allegedly snatched the electoral materials from ward 3, 5,12 and 17 and took it to the collation center.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the African Action Congress AAC in Akpo Kingdom, Mr Ibe Chima have debunked claims by the People’s Democratic Party, that the AAC candidate is not qualified to govern the Rivers people. He said that the AAC candidate Awara is qualified and highly educated.
” the election went very peaceful, and we are very happy. The AAC party that we supported, I am in support of what the candidate said, that he should be declared as the winner. I also plead to INEC to also consider the life of the masses. They were saying that he is not qualified to be the governor. Eng Awara is qualified. He is a youth, and we want power to be taken over by youth” he stated.
He also thanked the people of Akpo Kingdom for conducting themselves wisely during Saturday’s polls.
