International Friendly: Super Eagles Set To Feed On Algeria

All is now set for the Friendly match between the Super Eagles of Nigeria and the Dessert Foxes of Algeria. The match, which will hold at the Jacques Lemans Arena, will be the first time both side are meeting after the African champions defeated the Super Eagles in the semi-final of last year’s Africa Cup of Nations.

Both sides have met 21 times with Algeria winning nine times while Nigeria have won eight times. Both teams have drawn four timed.

Gernot Rohr, coach of the Super Eagles will be using this friendly and the one they will play against Tunisia to fine tune his team ahead of next month’s AFCON qualifiers. Having invited some new players, the German tactician will want to give them some action in order to commit their international future to Nigeria.

The new invitees include, goalkeeper, Matthew Yakubu, who plays for SKF Sered of Slovakia, Zaidu Sanusi of FC Porto, Frank Onyeka of FC Midtjylland, Samson Tijani of TVC Harberg Cyril Dessers of Genk and Chidera Ejuke of CSKA Moscow.
