Insecurity:Nigeria Needs Urgent Prayers ,Says Gov Ikpeazu,Tasks Clerics On Need For  Intercession

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has urged Christians to pray for the Country, Nigeria especially now that it is faced with all forms of security challenges.

Governor Ikpeazu who was speaking at the Alaigbo Sunrise Prayer Crusade tagged “Abia Season of Liberation, Restoration and Refreshment”, organised by the East Mandate Global at the event center Okpara Square,Umuahia tasked Clerics on the need for sustained  Intercession for the country and Abia State.

 

Governor Ikpeazu represented by the Commissioner for Housing, Elder Chinagorom Nwankpa noted that the program is apt owing to the incessant killing of citizens caused by the activities of bandits and herdsmen.
He said; “Activities of hoodlums and kidnappers in the country is becoming uncontrollable.  Hardly will a day pass that you will not hear one bad news of killing and kidnapping which in recent time our clerics and worshippers have become the worst hit.

 

“Agitations by some individuals and groups in the South East has further worsened the economic woes of the zone and needs special prayers for God’s intervention and restoration.

“Our country Nigeria also needs prayers mostly this period of transition to elect our leaders in 2023 therefore pray without ceasing”.

The Governor noted that his administration has taken the security of Abians and its visitors as its first charge, in addition to making frantic efforts to nipping in the bud issues of kidnapping and other forms of insecurity which led to the recent inauguration of a Special Security Committee in the state.

He further stated that his administration has set Abia on the process of liberation, restoration and refreshment by embarking on massive infrastructural development, establishment of state security outfit to stem the tide of insecurity in the state and called for more prayers to finish strong as he lays a solid foundation for the repositioning of Abia.

 

He said that the prevailing situation calls for spiritual reawakening of religious organizations and leaders and thanked the East Mandate Global, Christian Association of Nigeria and other faith-based leaders for deeming it fit to pray for God’s intervention at this precarious time.
Earlier, the lead convener,Apostle Nzimiro while also praying for Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and his administration,urged Abians to always uphold the present administration in prayers to enable it end better.
