In a bid to assist the Government fight insecurity, cultism,as well as other vices in the society,the Police Campaign Against Cultism and Other Vices (POCACOV), has moved to synergize with the Umuahia Chamber of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture, UCCIMA.
Speaking during the Decoration ceremony which took place in Umuahia, Abia State, the UCCIMA president, Chief Chidi Nkem-Aruoma who was decorated alongside six other members, lauded the presidency and the Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, for setting up the POCACOV, a campaign that is fighting against cultism and other vices.
Nkem-Aruoma pointed out that the campaign among other things would help in redeeming the image of the society, where societal values, security, business, among others,have deteriorated.
While lauding the efforts of the Abia state Governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, whose tireless input in reviving the state’s economy, has made Abia safe for business.
Earlier in his speech, the POCACOV Abia State Chairman/Coordinator, Ambassador Darlington Kalu, while honouring Chief Aruoma as the POCACOV volunteer club Chairman for Abia Central Senatorial District, charged him to coordinate and establish POCACOV in the six Local Government Areas that made up the zone, which would later trickle down from the LGA to the wards, for effective management.
