Insecurity In Rivers State: Governor Fubara Priorities Security Of Lives, Properties.

The recent development in the security of the Rivers State in particular and the country at large seems as if the security architecture has collapsed.

Ordinary Nigerians bragging with their AK 47 without fear thereby encouraging the younger generation that there is no one to fear except their gun, show casing in increasing cases of robbery, theft, killings, kidnapping and many other social vices making life unbearable to the citizens. There are too many cases to mention.

On the 22nd of July, 2023, the Nigeria Union of Journalists raised alarm over the kidnap of its colleague, Mrs. Prestba Anthony Nwokocha, Director of News, Rivers State Broadcasting Co-operation.

Governor Fubara made this known when the Assistant Inspector of Police Zone Six, Ben Nebeolisa Okolo and his entourage paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House Port Harcourt, July 20, 2023.

The Governor insisted that his administration will partner with the police and other security agencies in securing lives and properties of the citizens of the state, promising to provide vehicles and other logistics to ensure effective operation.

According to Elder. Benson Ike the rate of insecurity in the state has triggered the emergence of community policing which aim is to compliment the efforts of the security agents in the state.
