Insecurity: APGA Guber Candidate Vows To Check Activities Of Killer Herdsmen In Enugu

ENUGU-The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) gubernatorial candidate in Enugu State, Mr. Frank Nweke Jr, has vowed not to allow terrorists who settle in the forests and bushes in the guise of doing business to unleash terror on the citizens.

Nweke who spoke during engagement with newsmen recently, insisted that if voted into power next year, his administration would ensure that criminals who masquerade as herders to kill innocent citizens was not allowed anywhere in the state.

“I will not allow the settlement of Fulani herdsmen anywhere in our State until it is clear that they, under the guise of herding, no longer pose a threat to lives, farmlands and properties. Banditry and terrorism will not be tolerated in anyway.”

According to him, ‘as much as peace and co-existence is preferred, we cannot keep losing the lives of our people to bandits posing as business men.

“We need a governor that will take radical actions, not one that will skirt around the issues out of weakness or personal interests or in allegiance to a cabal.”he said.

It could be recalled that Nweke in previous interviews said that he would encourage ranching in the long-term, the way it done in developed countries, so far as they won’t be a threat to the citizens and farmers.
