Infrastructural Projects, Human Capital Development, Top Agenda As Council Boss Presents Budget

 

 

The Chairman, Ohafia Local Government Area, Dr Okoroafor Ukiwe, Wednesday, presented an estimated budget overlay of Two Billion, Sixteen Million,Two Hundred and Fifty Six Thousand, Four Hundred and Seventy Naira (N2,016,256,470) for the 2021 fiscal year before the Legislative Council for consideration and passage.

 

An outlay of the 2021 budget which emphasizes on Human Capital Development and critical Infrastructural Projects, shows the Recurrent Expenditures pegged at ₦2,016,756,470.00 while the sum of N18,460,000.00 is allocated to Capital Expenditure.

 

Presenting the budget estimate Tagged: “Budget of Even Development”, at the Ohafia Legislative Council,Dr Ukiwe emphasised that the main trust of 2021 budget will be driven by the continuation of already set out programmes,policies and projects in the local government by his administration.

According to him,the 2021 budget would be used to tackle critical infrastructural projects such as, grading of roads, construction of adequate drainages,control and prevention of erosion as well tackle healthcare delivery services among others.

He said that the budget would equally prioritize Human Capital Development/ skills acquisition, reactivation of the Ohafia Local government poultry and improvement of the cassava demonstration factories.

 

While noting that the implementation of the Budget will compliment the efforts of Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in rural infrastructural development,the Council boss called on the Legislative Council to grant the budget estimate the accelerated passage it requires.

Dr Ukiwe commended the synergy between the legislative and executive arms of government noting that members of legislative Council have always demonstrated interest and commitment to the overall growth and development of the Council.

In his remarks, the Leader of the 5th Ohafia Legislative Council, Chief Uka Ndukwe promised to give the budget estimate accelerated consideration and passage.

 

He assured that the legislative council will continue to work in harmony with the Executive for the growth and development of Ohafia Local Government.
