Imo Indigenes In Abia, Hail Otti’s Transformative Governance

 

A delegation of Imo Indigenes resident in Abia State has applauded Governor Alex Otti for what they described as transformative governance that has improved livelihoods, boosted businesses and reshaped the socio-economic landscape of Aba and Umuahia.

 

Speaking during a Courtesy visit to the Governor at Nvosi Isialangwa South LGA, the leader of the delegation and Commissioner in the Abia State Local Government Service Commission, Dr G. C. Duru, said their visit was “to thank Governor Otti for his good works in Abia, and Aba in particular.

 

He stressed that the Governor’s reforms has “contributed immensely to the growth of their businesses, improved their livelihood, and connectivity in Aba and Umuahia in general”.

 

Dr Duru added that the visit was also to secure a convenient date for the Governor and his wife to be honoured by the Imo community in Aba.

 

Responding, Governor Otti reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to delivering people-centred governance.

The Governor insisted that he remains focused on fulfilling the promises he made to citizens during the electioneering period.

He thanked the group for recognising what he described as the administration’s “modest contributions” towards transforming the State.

“I also appreciate the kind words you have used about the modest contributions we have made to change the story of Aba and Abia generally”, Governor Otti stated.

 

He further assured the delegation that arrangements would be made to agree on a suitable date for the honour they proposed for him and his wife.

“My team will work with you to find a convenient date for the event”, he said

In his remarks earlier, Chairman of the Imo Cultural Association, Okenze James Odocha, lauded the Governor Otti for performing “beyond expectations,” saying his achievements within a short period “speak loudly of his level of preparedness for the position”.

 

Odocha noted that the Governor had “redefined governance and changed the narratives in all sectors”, adding that his strides in the health sector had turned Abia into “a tourist centre on health-related issues”,

He also commended the ongoing expansion of the Owerrinta–Umuikaa Road and the Abia Tower of Peace–Onuimo Road, describing them as major infrastructural milestones.
