Illegal Revenue Collectors Warned by Calabar Municipal Council

Following the introduction of a new revenue payment system by the Calabar Municipal Council, the Council has issued a warning to all illegal revenue collectors in the Council to stop collecting revenue from all organisations in the Council or face the consequences.

The warning, which was issued in a notice released by the Chief Press Secretary to the Council, Mr. Ogua Etim, also notified the public, especially business owners, corporate organisations, banks, hotels, financial institutions, private schools, private hospitals, filling stations, and fast food centres, not to make any payment to any illegal revenue collector. Instead, all payments should be directed through the new Remita platform provided.

It will be recalled that the Council Chairman, Apostle James Anam, had earlier retrieved all appointments of all revenue collectors, including revenue agents, revenue committees, and ad-hoc staff for the Council, on account of the new payment system.

All revenue payments and other payments to the Council are expected to be made through the new automated platform for an easy and convenient payment process.
