I’ll ensure the welfare of elderly, ophanage homes- ADC candidate

The governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Rivers state Victor Fingerson says if elected, he will ensure that the welfare of elderly and orphanage homes in the State will become one of the government focus.

Mr Fingerson made the promise over the weekend, when he led his campaign team to donate food items in an orphanage home known as Lifetime Caring International Foundation located at Woji area of Port Harcourt. Mr Fingerson accused many politicians of lacking in public spiritedness, urged them to think of the less privileged in the society and distribute good stuffs to them, while the campaign last.

” it is very touchy to see young kids like this who don’t have parents, but who willing and struggling to make it in life. Meaning I will contribute to their lives, even in the future. In any which small way, I definitely will come, we will make sure that they are properly educated. They won’t be left out. So anybody who can in life give to the next, to improve that ones life, is not something nature forgets. So we must as government take care of all the homes in Port Harcourt as a priority ” he stated.

One of the coordinators of the Orphanage home Donald Stephen who commended the ADP governorship candidate donations urged other public spirited individuals to help provide the home with vehicles and payment of their house rents.

” we give them their fundamental rights irrespective of their gender, education, shelter, clothing and their skill until they graduate. Some of them are now in the university, about two sets have passed out, some of them have gotten married, while some of them are working. Difficulties we are facing now is the vehicle that is used to transport them to school got broke down. And as it stands now, the tent where we are living is a rented place. We pay N500,00 annually. By March it will be due for our next payment. We want to buy here to be our own permanent place, that is one of the biggest challenge we are having now” he stated.
