I’ll continue to serve Deltans according to God’s Will – Oborevwori

…Sues for Prayers, Support

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Delta in alignment with God’s will, appealing for continued prayers and support from the citizenry to ensure the success of his administration.

The Governor made this known on Sunday during a worship service at Heroes of Faith Ministries, Ughelli, in Ughelli North Local Government Area.

Speaking to a warmly receptive congregation, Governor Oborevwori explained that his visit was unannounced, even to his aides underscoring the sincerity of his intent to worship and hear the word of God.

“I told our Lord Bishop that when I come, I will come unannounced,” he said.

“This was my way of showing my genuine desire to be in God’s presence”.

He expressed gratitude to the Presiding Bishop, Kingsley Enakirerhi, for standing by him during the 2023 elections despite facing criticisms.

“People criticized you and called you a betrayer because you followed God and openly supported me”, Oborevwori noted.

Highlighting the infrastructural strides of his administration, the Governor pointed to the various ongoing projects, including flyovers across the state, as proof of his government’s commitment to progress.

“The evidence today is the flyover”, he stated. “When you speak, you can say the person God led you to support brought this flyover, and people will respect you more because you did the right thing”.

Governor Oborevwori reiterated that under the MORE agenda, his administration remains focused on improving the lives of Deltans.

“I assure you we will continue to serve according to the will of God. Please continue to pray for us, especially those of us in positions of authority, so we are not distracted”.

Earlier in his remarks, Bishop Kingsley Enakirerhi commended the Governor’s dedication to inclusive development, describing him as a detribalized leader who has risen above ethnic sentiments to serve all Deltans equitably.

He lauded the Governor’s swift actions on infrastructure across the three senatorial districts, specifically referencing the newly approved flyover at Otovwodo Junction, Ughelli, as a reflection of his responsive and result-driven leadership.

“Governor Oborevwori is a man of speed who matches his words with action,” the Bishop said. “Through visible projects like these, he has silenced his critics”.

The Bishop also praised the Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council, Olorogun Jaro Egbo, for his effective leadership in the area.
