Special Advisers to the Governor of Abia state, from Abia central geo-political zone, have vowed to deliver all PDP candidates in the forthcoming general election.
Rising from a maiden meeting of the body on Thursday , at the Conference Hall of
Confidence hotel Umuahia, the body was unanimous on their commitment towards overall victory of the party, maintaining that the party has lived above board and thus deserve the support of Abians .
Earlier in their separate remarks ,the chairman of OVI body of Adviser’s Honorable Collins Nwakanma and the coordinator of Abia central zone Engr Austin Stephen Uchenna, informed the house of the commitment of the Governor and the leader of PDP to collaborate with the body to ensure a peaceful and smooth transition to another PDP government come 2023, stressing that PDP remains the party to beat regardless of the distractions by the opposition parties.
They therefore advocated for harmony among party leaders and stakeholders as an imperative to shore up support from the masses, urging that Abians who are of voting age should be encouraged to get their PVC before INEC closes the registration window in few days time.
Speaking on the nitty gritty of grassroot mobilisation and sensitisation,Dr Ndukwe Adindu,a Special Adviser and former Finance Commissioner, harped on the need for hardwork at the grassroot, informing that the Nigeria Electoral Act demands nothing but hardwork, as the era of electoral manipulations are over.
Other speakers took turn to encourage the Adviser’s to remain steadfast and committed to her support and loyalty to Governor Okezie Victor Ikpeazu ,noting that the Uche Ndi Abia project is a task that must be accomplished.They also urged Abians, who are of voting age, to get their voters card in order to choose credible leaders that will lead them from 2023.
In his vote of thanks, Dr Collins Obi,Special Adviser on Police Affairs, thanked the Advisers for responding to the invitation pointing that the array of personalities present at the meeting evinces the quality of Advisers who are working for the Governor. He consequently reiterated the determination of the Adviser’s to ensure that all the Party’s candidates in the forthcoming election are delivered “from top to bottom” during the forthcoming general election.
Highpoint of the meeting was the selection of zonal Executive officers,Local Government Coodinators, Patrons and Matron of the body.
The meeting which was attended by notable Advisers to the Governor of Abia state,from Abia central geo-political zone, equally unveiled her grassroot program for mass mobilisation of Abia voters as well as other critical plans to ensure that the party cruises to victory in 2023.
Also present in the meeting include,Elder Kennedy Onyenma Secretary of the zonal body, Hon Obinna Esochaghi Treasurer , Mrs Nelda Okafor, Publicity secretary and other Advisers from the six Local Government Areas of Umiahia North and South, Ikwuano,Isiala Ngwa North and South and Osisioma Ngwa . Five LG coordinators, four Patrons and a Matron were equally selected to actualise the objectives of the body .
