Ikpeazu Urges Abians To Get Vaccinated

WIFE OF ABIA GOVERNOR MRS. NKECHI IKPEAZU Taking the Oxford Astra Zeneca Vaccine Against covid – 19 

The Wife of Abia Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, has taken the first jab of the Oxford Astra Zenena vaccine against the coronavirus pandemic.

The Governor’s wife who was administered the first shot of the vaccine in her Government House Office in Umuahia today said it is pertinent for all to get vaccinated.

According to her, “the vaccine is coming in, in batches and I thank the Federal Government for making it available for us, I am also urging everyone to avail themselves of the opportunity of getting vaccinated because that is the safer way to fight the virus for now based on medical experts advice” the Governor’s wife said.

Also vaccinated was, the National Organising Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Col. Austin Akobundu, who urged all to avail themselves of the opportunity to get the vaccine shot.

Akobundu explained that the vaccine has been proven to be safer, void of any complications by medical experts and call on people to disabuse their mind of fake news and get vaccinated.

According to him, “what we are talking about has been scientifically proven and not mere rhetorics, coronavirus is real that is why we are in the forefront to get vaccinated so that people will know that the vaccine is safe and effective against the virus ” He said.

However, the Secretary, Abia Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Chinagozie Adindu, said that the target is to get the front line workers vaccinated first and then the 17, local government areas will follow suit through the primary health care centres in the state.

Adindu explained that the vaccine is safe and encourage all to get vaccinated.
