Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has promised that work on the Umuaru-Nenu road in Obingwa LGA will commence very shortly.
Governor Ikpeazu made the promise while speaking at the thanksgiving service organized by the Federal Commissioner representing Abia State at the Revenue Mobilization Allocation and Fiscal Commission RMAFC Abuja, Comrade Dr. Chris Akomas at the United Evangelical Church, Nenu Superitendency Headquarters, Nenu, Obingwa LGA to thank God for restoring the Governor’s health after his Covid 19 experience.
The Governor assured that the contractor that will handle the project will be mobilized to site very soon and urged youths of Nenu to support the contractor and ensure that the job is not obstructed in a way.
Governor Ikpeazu thanked Dr Chris Akomas for his friendship and support and promised to continue to uphold him in bringing development to his people.
Earlier in his speech, Comrade Dr Chris Akomas, who is also a former Deputy Governor of Abia State said that the thanksgiving service was his way of thanking God for the opportunity given the Governor to serve as the first Governor of Ngwa extraction and for saving the Governor’s life from the rampaging corona virus.
Comrade Akomas, a Chieftain of the APC in Abia, stated that during the health challenge of the Governor, he made a vow to God that he will organize a Thanksgiving Service to mark the recovery of the Governor and thanked God for restoring the health of the Governor Ikpeazu.
Wife of the Governor, Mrs Nkechi Ikpeazu, former Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon Eric Acho Nwakanma, Federal Commissioner representing Abia State on the board of the NCC, Chief Nyerere Anyim, former State Chairman of the PDP, Senator Emma Nwaka, Hon. Thomas Nkoro of the State Assembly, Executive Chairman of Obingwa LGA, Hon. Micheal Ibe Nwoke, immediate past TC Chairman of Umunneochi LGA, Dr. Eze Chikamnayo, Prof Sam Erugo and his wife, Uchechi were amongst dignitaries who took part in the church service.
