Abia state governor, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu has assured residents of the state, particularly, those living or plying within the ABSU- Uturu- Okigwe and Umunneochi -Ihube Axis of adequate protection of lives and property in the face of senseless criminal activities going on in that area.
Dr Ikpeazu said that government has been informed of yet another incident of senseless kidnapping and unfortunate death of innocent citizens within that areas, assured that they are on top of the situation.
In a release signed by the Hon. Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr Eze Chikamnayo, said that Gov. Ikpeazu as a very proactive and security conscious leader has over the years proven through visible results that the safety and welfare of all Abians and Nigerians remain his topmost priority.
Dr Ikpeazu said that, he was saddened by the ugly development around Abia- Imo State boundaries and would leave no stone unturned to ensure that normalcy are quickly restored .
The release, further stated that operational reasons, further details would not be disclosed now, to safeguard the processes already put in place by the hardworking security agencies and government authorities.
Governor Ikpeazu therefore, assures all citizens of his total commitment in the aforementioned regard and urged all to remain calm and maintain the peace.
