Ikpeazu hands over 292, megaphones, drugs and flyers to local government health authority secretaries for effective sensitisation of Covid -19 protocols

All is now set for distribution in the 17 Local Government Areas of Abia State, 292, megaphones, drugs for primary health care facilities and flyers for effective dissemination and proper sensitization of Covid -19, informations in the rural areas within the 292, ward in Abia state.
The wife of Abia Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, who procured these items for local government health authority secretaries, said it has become necessary that we do the little we can to end the spread of the virus by getting our people adequately informed and to adhere to directives given by the Nigeria Centre For Disease Control.
The Governor’s wife, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on primary health care, Mrs. Uloma Anosike, said that government is poised to monitor the usage of the health materials to ensure that the items are effectively put to use for proper dissemination and sensitisation of the grassroots in our rural communities.
” as health workers, we are concerned about the health of our people and we equally need these items to do the needful that’s why we hands these items to health authority secretaries who are grounded on the Covid -19 protocols for immediate and effective use in communities and rural sensitization”.
Receiving the materials at the State Government House Umuahia, the Executive Secretary, Abia Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Chinagozie Adindu, states that primary health care is based on scientifically sound and social acceptable norms which makes universal health care accessible to all individuals and families in a community through their full participation and at a cost very affordable.
“It is this line that the wife of the Governor has come to lend her support at a time that it is needed most especially in this era of pandemic “.
“these megaphones will be used for multiple purposes while sensitising Abians about covid – 19, we will also address the issues of sickle cell disease, communicable diseases and non communicable diseases among other health challenges”.
“we will ensure that these materials will be used effectively and specifically for the purpose it was meant for by the health authority secretaries, Adindu said “.
