Ikpeazu directs contractors to speed up work in Abia

Abia state Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu has urged contractors handling various projects across the state to speed up work so as to maximize the opportunities offered by the dry season window.

The Governor who was speaking when he embarked on inspection of the roads to ascertain the extent of work done, expressed satisfaction with the quality and progress of work at the various sites visited.He stressed that the essence of the inspection was to ascertain areas how the work was progressing as well as areas that need correction.

The Governor announced that he will revisit the sites  next week with some visitors being expected in the state pointing out that the roads which link rural communities will help in evacuation of farm produce from the hinterland.

Meanwhile, work is progressing steadily at the various road projects embarked upon by the state government in parts of the state.

The Commissioner for Works, Hon Eziuche Ubani conducted the Governor round the projects.

Projects inspected by the Governor included the Ndi- Oji –Ndiokereke Abam Road, Eluama-Amibo-Acha Road, Abiriba junction-Mkporo Road,the Obulo Nneato road and the Nkpa Road in Abia North zone and the Umuchim- Umuoru road, the Umuaro- Umuanunu- Ekwereazu Road,the Umuobiakwa-Owoahiafor-Onicha Ngwa Road, the Ovom Street and the New Umuahia Road all in Abia South zone.
