Ikpeazu Commends NYSC Skills Acquisitions Programme

The Wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, has commended the Directorate of the National Youth Service Corps, for the introduction of skills acquisitions programme to the one year service training of the youths corpers

This, she said are helping state governments across the country to reduce unemployment.

The Governor’s wife, who was represented by the Wife of Abia Deputy Governor, Mrs. Vivian Oko Chukwu, on the closing ceremony of the batch C corps members at the Umunna Orientation Camp in Igbere, Bende Local Government Area of the state said that skills acquisition is very important in our today economy just as Vicar Hope Foundation is engaging all the youths in it to fill the void of unemployment in the state.

However, the Governor’s wife encouraged the corps members to establish themselves in one skill or another especially now that the jobs are not forthcoming on a platter.

In her remarks, the state coordinator of NYSC, Mrs. Bona Faseken, stated that the corps members have undergone a lots of programmes in skills acquisition to includes fashion designing, hand bags/fan making, photography, beads making and a lot more.

These experiences, she expressed the corps members will go with to impact the society at the place of their primary assignment.

The Governor’s wife at the end of the ceremony inspects the works showcased by the corps members and encouraged them to go into the society and become employers of labour.
