Ikpeazu Charges Women To Get Involves in Practical Leadership

The Wife of Abia State Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu, has called on women to shake off their cultural subjugation to get actively involved in practical leadership in different spheres of life using their talents and innovative ideas.

The Governor’s wife made the call at the Hotel Royal Damgrete, Umuahia, in a conference organised by the Vicar Hope Foundation tagged Lucent 2020, Women Conference with a sub theme, Mobilizing the power of women, leading, changing and innovative.

According to her, ” this conference is driven by the conviction that for a country to achieve its full potential, socially or economically there is need to be a positive transformation in a way that women and the girls are valued”.

The Governor’s wife explained that the aim of the conference would be identifying the need in assisting young women connect the dots between leading, changing, innovative and the required exposure to start thinking outside the box.

In the conference, one of the keynote speakers, Naomi Osemedua, of Global Storyteller, charges the women to launch deep, innovates, awake the innate potential lying within them to change their world.

Osemedua, posit that if you have ever gone through something that makes you feel dejected, give yourself the gift of forgiveness and start over again because forgiveness is not about the other person, it is about you.

While Chidinma Ndukwe, of Bubez Foods, states that  innovation start from the mind but expressed that the only challenge we have is the level we have placed ourselves.

Ndukwe maintains that every woman has the capacity to achieve whatever she wants if such person dare to be different and pursue her dreams with actions.

Bestie Tamara Atti of Corporate Bestie was of the opinion that women should maximise their skills and expertise to grow, increase their streams of income and make an impact in the world.

Other resource persons who spoke to the admiration of the women were Emmanuel Ikubese, an actor and founder Emmanuel Ikubese Foundation, Chidinma Emodi of Footwear Academy, Norah Ubani of Norax_Pebble.

Others were Onwuasoanya Norah of Norahkulture and Goodness Ben, founder She’s Much More Africa.

However, the Vice President, Vicar Hope Foundation, Dr. Edith Nwosu, who chair the conference said that it is expected that the speakers will use their personal stories and their art of leadership to ignite the passion and at the same time communicate the need for young women to become relevant stakeholders in the society to play key roles that builds young women in leadership with innovation for sustainable living.

Meanwhile, one of the participants, Miss. Joy Ndukaku, who spoke with National Ambassador said that she has been energised to start something and make a difference.

Ndukaku, commended the Abia First Lady for championing such a programme to change the narrative of the women folks and pleaded that this kind of conference should be done quarterly but nevertheless we have been empowered.
