Ikpeazu charges newly sworn in Commissioner, TC Chairmen, Deputies on govt Dev agenda

Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu has charged the newly sworn in Commissioner for information, Chief John Okiyi Kalu as well as the 17 Transition Committee (TC) Chairmen and their deputies to complement efforts of the state government at their various levels.

Governor Ikpeazu who gave the charge during the swearing in ceremony at Michael Okpara Auditorium, Umuahia, further charged the newly sworn in officers to be open to suggestions and constructive criticisms.

The governor while congratulating the Chief Okiyi Kalu on his reappointment as the Information Commissioner said his commitment to duty, resilience,diligence, and ability to interpret the present administration’s vision earned him the position.

He urged the newly appointed officers to face the business of governance and administration as their activities are central and pivotal to the well-being of the people,warning that government would not tolerate any form of incompetence.

“Once again you have been appointed because of your service to the local government and state. We expect you to correct the mistakes you have made.

“We expect you to face the business of governance and administration, because your activities are central and pivotal to the well-being of the people.

“I expect peace and unity between the TC chairmen and the people at the grassroots”,governor Ikpeazu said.

Responding,the Commissioner for information,Chief John Okiyi Kalu,experssed gratitude to the governor for the opportunity to serve the people of Abia assuring that he will not disappoint the government and people of the State.

Responsing on behalf of other newly sworn in Transition Committee Chairmen,the TC chairman of Bende Local Government Area,Chief Princewill Onyegbu said that the new TC chairmen would live up to expectation.
