Abia state Government has approved the establishment of the Abia State Sports Academy to be located at the former Nsulu Games Village, Isiala Ngwa North Local Government Area.
Commissioner For Information and Strategy, Dr Eze Chikamnayo who stated this while briefing newsmen on the outcome of the Executive Council Meeting said the Nsulu Games Village would also house the Abia Youth Skill Acquisition Center earlier approved by the council and announced the setting up of an inter ministerial committee to midwife the actualization of the project.
He said in a bid to ensure standard certification of artisans and apprenticeship, the Exco equally announced the establishment of the Abia state Entrepreneurship Development Institute to be handled by the Ministry of Small and Medium Enterprise.
The Commissioner warned illegal occupants of the state Government owned Ayaba Umueze Palm Oil Nursery to immediately vacate the area or face the full weight of the law.
He said alot of projects have been lined up for commissioning as part of activities marking the 2022 Abia Day which would be celebrated on the 30th of August.
