One would have wondered why the Abia State Governor,Dr Okezie Victor Chibuikem Ikpeazu on his second term in office, precisely while swearing in the Commissioners that would assist in delivering on his campaign promises, created the Ministry of Homeland Security.
When the Ministry was created, most Abians made mockery of it, calling the Governor all manner of derogatory names for seeing ahead of time, talking down on the importance of the Ministry and the man put in-charge to head the affairs of the baby ministry.
Homeland security,as the name implies,is simply the securing of our indigenous land.
The Homeland Ministry is as important as the air we breath, because no one can record any good success in a society where matters of security is being joked with.
Permit me to state that any land where security business is treated with kid’s glooves, should be ready for the worst. Criminality will of course be at its peak. Likewise, any state that is confronted with security challenges, should forget about any meaningful development. When you visit Borno, Adamawa and other Northern states that have been under the siege of Bokoharam insurgency, you will understand better.
Indeed when the Holy Bible admonished us to respect those in authority, it was not a misnomer. I Pet 2:13, Romans 13 1-10 and other fifteen Bible references, all pointed the need for Christians to obey those placed in authority over them.
Please note,” Leaders are not just made, they are not just elected”, As a matter of fact,no leader can emerge if he/she does not have any backing from God.
Leaders, whether political, spiritual, traditional are tools or vessels, God uses to reach out to His people, so if after an election,a leader emerges, don’t think it was your vote alone that brought him on board. No man can make a Leader.
No wonder Saul with all his atrocities was anointed a King by God,1 Samuel 9,10.
Have you now seen that no leader no matter your faith can emerge without God?
As a leader of God’s people, He gives you messages as well as insight on how to rule His people. So when the Bible says Obey your leaders,it means total obeidence. What God will not reveal to a follower,He will reveal to a leader.
Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has proven beyond all reasonable doubt that indeed he is a leader from God.
His leadership style and dexterity, leaves one amazed.
What would Abia have done, now that Covid 19 is ravaging the world with the Almajiris hiding themselves in sacks just to come into the state? Would we have had faith in our Nigerian Police to help guard our borders? Certainly No!
The Governor before now, had created a ministry for the security of our homeland, putting a dogged, indefatigable and servant- leader commissioner,in the person of Prince Dan Okoli to help man the Ministry without fear of failure, knowing fully well it was a baby Ministry.
Hmmmmmm…..
Indeed I doff my hat for the wisdom displayed by this uncommon Governor. A wisdom after the order of King Solomon, the one I describe as ‘SOLOMONIC WISDOM’. Who before a problem exhumes, has already gotten a solution. This kind is Rare..
Dr Ikpeazu’s wise decision has put Abia on the front -line, topping the list when it comes to most secured state in the Eastern region and Nigeria at large.
It will interest you to know that Another truck load of Almajiris was intercepted today at our border, while trying to sneak as usual into the state.
All thanks to the Commissioner of Homeland Security and his team that are always alert and more thanks to the Governor who saw ahead of time and created the HOMELAND MINISTRY.
COVID 19 pandemic has globally exposed the lapses of some political leaders, while in the case of Abia,it has helped in showcasing the wisdom of the governor.Who would have thought that some day, the baby Ministry of the state will be the look out of all, helping to protect the state from stranger elements in the midst of Covid 19. The Projects, Prayers, Policies and Programs (PPPP) of the Governor, are what have kept the state Safe, therefore we must rise and support the governor to continue delivering on his campaign promises.
