Governor Okezie Ikpeazu has assured the Aba community that his administration is determined to fix more dilapidated roads in the area.
He pointed out that arrangement has been concluded to build the long abandoned Osusu and Omuma roads in Aba.
The Governor was was addressing a mammoth crowd of residents of Aba South comprising both the Aba la Ohazu indigenes and non indigenes living in Aba South Local Government Area, who gathered at Aba Town Hall to adopt him as their sole governorship candidate in 2019 elections.
Dr. Ikpeazu, who said that Obohia and Ohanko roads would receive attention as the bottlenecks have been removed urged them to ensure they get their Permanent Voters Cards (PVC) so as to vote for PDP at the appropriate time.
In their separate speeches, the member representing Aba South State Counstituecy, Hon. Clinton Ebere, Commissioners for Education and Inter-State Affairs, Prof. Ikechi Mgbeoji and Mr. Thaddeus Izuogu as well as the Aba South Council Chairman, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbonna endorsed the State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu as their sole candidate for 2019 Governorship election in the State.
The stakeholders assured the Governor that they would mobilize their people to vote for him in 2019, emphasizing that no other candidate would be accepted in the entire Aba South except him.
They appreciated the quality roads done by the Ikpeazu administration and other developmental strides and urges him to continue.
In their contributions, representative of Imo, Anambra, Enugu, Ebonyi States and Hausa community acknowledged the achievements of the Governor in Aba, especially in road infrastructure and sending of Aba shoe makers to China to learn automated shoe making.
According to them, since the days of Aba Women’s Riot, there has never been a time Aba has attracted attention in the African sub region except this time around, that Governor Ikpeazu is promoting the Made in Aba products .
According to them , it was based on his works in the State that they resolved to adopt him as their sole candidate in 2019, promising to ensure that non indigenes resident in Aba would register for voters card in Aba and vote for the second term of the Governor.
Earlier, the Chairman, Organising Committee, Chief Egwuatu Egbulefu said the event was organized by indigenes and business men and women resident in Aba South and appreciated the giant strides of the Governor in Aba.
He thanked the Governor for appointing some of their indigenes and residents to serve in his government and assured him that his second tenure is not negotiable.
