The leader of the Simplified Movement in Obio-Akpor LGA, Ambassador Chijioke Ihunwo, has extended his grassroots empowerment initiative to non-indigenous residents.
In a gesture of inclusivity, he donated N10 million to Igbo women in the LGA.
This follows his initial empowerment launch on May 14, 2024, where he donated N10 million to women in Ward 1, Obio-Akpor LGA.
The donation was made during an event hosted by the Igbo community in Obio-Akpor, where Amb. Ihunwo expressed gratitude for their unwavering support of Governor Siminalayi Fubara. He assured the Igbo community that their businesses and properties remain secure under the current administration.
Praising the leadership of High Chief Sam Anya, the leader of non-indigenes in Rivers state, and Eze Sam Nwokolo, Amb. Ihunwo emphasized the importance of unity and support for Governor Fubara, whom he described as a humble and God-fearing leader with a conscience.
High Chief Sam Anya and Eze Sam Nwokolo echoed these sentiments, highlighting the organic support for Governor Fubara and thanking Amb. Ihunwo for his commitment to the community. The event included prayers for the governor’s administration and the presentation of awards to Amb. Ihunwo.
In attendance at the event were the Commissioner for Power, Rivers State; Hon. Amb. Solomon Abel Eke, Commissioner for Transport, Hon. Collins Onunwo, Hon. Prince Achor Nna, leaders of the Rivers State Arewa and Yoruba communities, as well as a host of other respected dignitaries.
