Igbo Town Unions Congratulate Abia on 34th Anniversary, Hail Gov. Otti’s Leadership

The Association of Igbo Town Unions, Abia State chapter, has congratulated Abians on the 34th anniversary of the creation of the state.

Speaking with newsmen in Umuahia, the President-General of the association, Chief (Sir) George Mgborukwe, expressed gratitude to God for sustaining the state through moments of progress and setbacks since its creation. He urged Abians to remain committed to the peace, unity, and development of the state, stressing that “when the righteous is on the throne, the people rejoice.”

Chief Mgborukwe, on behalf of the association, commended Governor Alex Otti for what he described as an impactful, people-oriented administration. He noted that the Governor’s leadership qualities have set him apart as a God-fearing leader determined to leave indelible footprints in the governance of the state.

He added that since Abia’s creation 34 years ago, God has used Governor Otti to fulfill the aspirations of the people by restoring hope and delivering democracy dividends. He also called on citizens to continue to pray for God’s protection and guidance for the Governor.

The association’s leader further encouraged eligible voters—especially those who have just turned 18, relocated, or lost their voter cards—to take advantage of the ongoing registration exercise to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).
