Igbo group congratulates Gov. Ikpeazu on his re-election

A pan socio-cultural Igbo organisation, the Igbo World Union has congratulated the governor of Abia state, Dr Okezie Ikpeazu on his reelection for second term in office.

In a congratulatory message to the governor on the heel of the INEC declaration of Abia governorship election, the President of the umbrella body of Igbo world Unions in Nigeria and Diaspora, Sir Mishak Nnanta Gburugburu Ndigbo Dum, said that the victory was a manifestation of the Abia electorate confidence on the performance of the governor and the need for him to continue the good works.

Sir, Nnanta however urged the governor to be magnanimity in victory by seeing the entire state as his primary constituency and not discriminate against any section of the state in his infrastructure development.

He further challenged the governor to top up his development of the state by aggressively not only completing ongoing infrastructure developments in the state but new ones capable of triggering economic activities are initiated and completed especially the Enyimba Economic City because of its tremendous positive impact not only on the economy of the state but the entire old Eastern region.

Sir, Nnanta commended the peaceful disposition exhibited by Abians during the election and noted with satisfaction that the state was one of the few in the country where there was no killings and other political related violence and urged both the people and the politicians in the state not to see politics and quest for political power as a due or die affairs.

In a related development, President of the Igbo World Union has equally congratulated the former governor of Abia state and Senator elect for Abia North, Dr Orji Uzor-Kalu on his emergent during the presidential/National elections and expressed the hope that the former governor would be a strong voice in championing the Igbo cause at the National Assembly.

He appealed to the Igbo political elites to work towards actualising the Nigeria President of Igbo extraction by 2023 irrespective of political affiliations.
