I Will Seek Redress In Court— Erstwhile Obingwa Chairman

 

 

The embattled former Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area,Hon Ibe Micheal Nwoke has faulted the Abia State Government’s action of replacing him with his former deputy, saying he would seek redress in a competent court of law.

 

Hon. Nwoke who stated this while interacting with Journalists at Umuagwula, Obingwa Local Government Area, said he is unperturbed by the state governments action as he is focused on the task head to secure a seat at the Green Chambers to represent his people come 2023.

He said: “I am not distracted by happenings in the Abia political space especially the swearing in of my Deputy as the Chairman of Obingwa Local Government Area.

“I am not a lawyer neither am i in a position to interpret the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria or the Abia state House of Assembly laws. I am consulting with my legal team to do the needful. The court will interpret it in due time”.

 

“Right now, i am focused on the task head which is securing my seat at the Green Chambers to represent the good people of Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency. I don’t want to be distracted and I do not also want what doesn’t deserve my attention to take my time.

 

 

The Former ALGON boss explained that contrary to speculations of his impeachment by the legislative council, he was neither served any impeachment notice nor impeached by anyone or group of persons.

“I was never impeached. I am not aware and was never served any impeachment notice. People are manufacturing that from the comfort of their homes.

 

“Just as a precautionary measure, i approached a court some months ago and on Thursday, a court of competent jurisdiction gave a perpetual injunction restraining the councillors from impeaching me without completing the constitutional process.

 

“The perpetual injunction has been served to the leader of Obingwa legislative council and every other person that needs to be served has been served and like I said earlier I am focusing on the days ahead”.

 

Nwoke said acts of illegalities by his former party where some of the reasons he left the PDP and alleged that the party “manufactured” a list of the three man delegate as opposed to party constitution.
