A leading Governorship Aspirant in Abia state, Chief Ncheta Elvis Omerekpe (Ofor Ndi Igbo), has made public his source of wealth, saying he runs the Ncheta Groups, housing five companies.
In a chat with Newsmen at his Umuakwu Nsulu country home,Chief Omerekpe disclosed that he is a full time business man and a consultant to the National House of Assembly for the past 20 years.
According to him, anybody thinking otherwise about his wealth should know that he runs a multi billion naira company, Ncheta Groups, that has five companies that are into road construction,deep agriculture, hospitality industry and consultancy.
“Am not a show man.I have been the brain behind the National Budget for the past 20 years.
“Just last year,one of my farms sold 2000 pieces of snail and made over #1.5b in Abuja.
“Am a big time farmer, am into snail and cattle rearing. I have over one million snails in this compound. I also have snail farm in Abuja.Am not like other governorship aspirants”,he said.

Chief Omerekpe while disclosing how he joined the 2023 Abia Guber race under the People’s Democratic Party, said he bowed to the pressure from people who thought he could do better if given government resources.
“For the past 15 years, we have done what no government could do.We built solid roads, provided scholarship for over fifty thousand Abia students in different tertiary institutions across the country, irrespective of where they come from.
“We provided medical outreach and treated over one hundred and fifty sick Abians without knowing still where they come from and we have gone ahead to provide security architecture.
“These are what people saw and came pressurizing me that if i can do all what i did with my personal resources,then if given the government resources and where withal,i will do better”.
Speaking on the forth coming PDP primary election and if he has any plan to defect to other parties, if the system does not favour him, the Governorship hopeful, bluntly disclosed that he is not leaving the PDP but will remain in the party to correct every anomaly to emerge the candidate of the party.
“Am not playing with the system. I will remove anybody standing on the path of truth.Am not leaving PDP”.
He, however, expressed satisfaction over the leadership of the PDP National body, describing the National chairman of the party Sen Ayorchia Ayu, as firm,fair and honest, expecting that he would allow the generality of Abians to play out at the forth coming governorship primary election.
Meanwhile, Chief Ncheta Omerekpe was born on the 24th of November, 1969.He attended Umuakwu Central School, Nelcin Secondary school, Aba and Abia State University, Uturu where he bagged a Degree in History and International Relations.
Omerekpe is an amiable,kind hearted and a consummate philanthropist, which earned him the name ‘OFOR NDI IGBO’,which means the pillar and back bone of the igbo land both home and abroad.He is an outstanding intellectual asset in business research, consultancy, international relations, project management, business education among others.
He is the Founder, Ncheta Omerekpe Foundation , Mr. Omerekpe single handedly built a 17km asphalt road, mounted street lights, constructed three school buildings, constructed two giant civic halls/skills acquisition centres, equipping primary health centres among other laudable projects.
Omerekpe has bagged many awards proving his hard work and impact in the lives of the people and the world.
He said if he is elected as the next Governor of Abia state, he would run a transparent government, use the template of what he has done so far to bring tremendous development to Abia.
