The hope for an early end of to the ongoing strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, has been dashed as the shunned a meeting scheduled with the Federal Government on Tuesday.
The meeting was called to address issues arising from an earlier agreement between them for which ASUU has been on strike.
Speaking on the boycott, ASUU President, Biodun Ogunyemi, while speaking with newsmen, said the union had submitted a proposal to the federal government and is yet to receive a reply from FG.
He added that ASUU would attend a subsequent meeting only after it has received a reply from the federal government.
Ogunyemi further disclosed that ASUU had met, discussed the new offer from the FG and submitted a proposal to the government but is yet to receive any response.
