The Secretary to the Abia State Government, Barr. Chris Ezem has reiterated the Governor Okezie Ikpeazu’s effort to clear all backlog of salaries owed worker in the state.
Barr. Ezem who dropped the cheering news during the Umuahia South PDP End of the year get-together party held at the country home of the member representing Umuahia South State Constituency Hon. Jerry Uzosike at Eluama na Mgbedala Umunwanwa in Umuahia south LGA said that, Abia state government is up-to-date in payment of workers salaries while some parastatals have received their monthly subvention in addition to already (97) road projects constructed and commissioned by the Governor Dr Okezie Ikpeazu.
Barr. Ezem further disclosed that, the on-going Osisioma Ngwa fly would soon be completed and commended the governor for mobilizing contractors handling Umuopara ring road and Mgbarakuma Ahiamoerie road projects in the council area.
In their respective remarks, the Immediate past Transition Committee Chairman of Umuahia South L.G.A, Dr. Ndukwe Adindu, Chief Tony Ezebuiro and Deacon Charles Ekwueme pointed out that Umuahia South PDP has every reason to appreciate God for His goodness upon the life of the state Governor, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, party stakeholders in Umuahia South, PDP faithful, leadership of the party at the state level and Abians in general as well as extolled Chief Uzosike for his quality representation.
Responding the member representing Umuahia South State Constituency, Chief Jerry Uzosike who highlighted some of his achievements as a legislator, attributed the successes recorded in his Constituency to the collective effort of all.
Hon. Uzosike applauded Governor Okezie Ikpeazu and Speaker Abia State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Chinedum Orji for their show of love to Umuahia South and as well thanked the Umuahia South Stakeholders for their unalloyed support to him.
The ceremony featured the distribution of bags of rice and deep freezers to the 10 PDP political wards and LGA Executive in Umuahia South.
