HON. OKEKE DISTRIBUTES PALLIATIVE MATERIALS TO HIS COMMUNITY

 

The  Transition Committee Councilor and Leader of the Arochukwu Local Government Legislative Council, Hon. Sam. Charles Okeke has distributed relief materials to the vulnerable and less privileged members of his community as a way to cushion the effects of Covid-19 lockdown on the people.

 

Hon. Okeke while handing the 200 pieces of wrappers and Bags of Rice among others to his people of Ututu community(Ututu ward A) Arochukwu LGA ,he urged them to comply strictly with the directive of the government by staying at home, washing their hands regularly with soap and clean running water, maintaining social distancing and reporting any suspicious case of Covid-19 to the appropriate authority.

Okeke, also commended the effort of Abia state government for controlling the disease,a well as setting up Isolation centres in the unlikely event of an outbreak.

He said,he decided to be at the forefront of the awareness campaign to educate his people on the dreaded virus and how to avoid contracting it, by now the smaller person is aware of the disease.

Okeke further urged the people to bear the pains associated with the lockdown stating that it’s the living that can engage in economic activities or go to worship centres.
