Hon. Nwokocha hails Gov. Ikpeazu’s developmental strides, says he is impressed

The federal lawmaker representing Isiala-Ngwa North/South Local Governments in the National Assembly, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha has expressed confidence in the Abia State Governor, Dr. Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, adding that he is impressed with his developmental strides in road construction, equitable distribution of state’s resources, positions and other dividends of democracy within the state.

Hon. Nwokocha who disclosed this to newsmen in his hometown in Isiala-Ngwa South Abia state recently, described road as a key development enabler that enhances assessibility which leads to sustainable socioeconomic development; giving kudos to the governor for massive roads construction across the state.

In his words: “I am impressed with Gov. Ikpeazu as good governance is not easy to come by especially when you have more than one major cities like Aba, Umuahia plus other emerging towns like Ohafia, Ukwa etc. to carter for. I have confidence with Gov. Ikpeazu. He has proven his mettle in leadership within the past five years.”

He further commended the state government for the management of Covid 19 in Abia while advising that the response system in Abia to be scaled up for all manner of emergencies.

The chairman, House Committee on Insurance and Insurance matter who lauded the governor on investment in human capital, further advocated for a sustainable indigenous training, re-training and re-orientation package for youths, stating that they are key to human capital development.

The ranking lawmaker further expressed delight in the recently conducted Local Government Area (LGA) polls in the state, noting that it will further deepen democracy at the grassroots and strengthens democracy at the centre.

He revealed out that under his Corporate Social Responsobility (CSR), that construction of a legislative house for the council lawmakers at Umuoba in Isiala-Ngwa South has been mapped out for legislative business.

The Ngwa-born legislator who further unveiled other projects under his CSR to include; 500 capacity Information Communication Technology (ICT) to serve as Computer Based Test (CBT) for candidates taking Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB), West African Examination Council (WAEC), among others, added that a mini stadium with gallery constructed in a school in his constituency is to make academic attractive as well as improve school enrollment.

“I believe in social development for future generation hence, the need to complement genuine efforts of Gov. Ikpeazu in his quest to meet the yearning of Abians”, he stated.

Nwokocha highlighted the need to embrace more vibrant ICT system with solar-driven Close Circuit Television (CCTV) system mounted at Abia boundaries/entry points, noting that it will enhance security in the state.

He urged Abians to desist from destructive criticism and support the Abia Governor whom he further said is committed to the Abia course.
