Hon Igbokwe Expresses Readiness To Partner NYCN

The Transition Committee Chairman of Ukwa East Local Government Area,Abia State, Chief Mrs Stella Igbokwe, has expressed her readiness to work with Ndoki youths.

Hon. Igbokwe stated this when the new executives, National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), paid her a courtesy visit recently at the council headquarters, Akwete, Ukwa-East LGA.

She charged the new executive to imbibe the principle of hardwork and humility, adding that it pays the most.
“Gov Okezie Ikpeazu doesn’t joke with the youths. He has the interest of Abians and the youths alike in his heart. I will continue in my capacity to work with the youths, as well as promote their development, seeing that they are the pillars of the society”, she stated.

She further commended the leadership of NYCN, Ukwa-East chapter, Comrade Akparanta Emmanuel,for his diligence and doggedness in coordinating youths activities, adding that he is quite reliable.
Lady Igbokwe further revealed that second skill acquisition centre brought by Oganiru women, Umuahia branch and co-founded by the council is in process while grading works in the communities is on course to aid farming activities in the area.

The council boss who decried that Ukwa-East may be cut off from other LGA in Abia due to bad road, however, unveiled that palliative work would soon commence at Azumini – Opobo junction (Aba) road.

Speaking earlier, the chairman, NYCN Ukwa-East Chapter, Comrade Akparanta Emmanuel, called on the government to carry the youths along in the scheme of things, adding that any society that neglects the youths has lost the future.

He expressed willingness to work with the LG Council boss to move Ukwa-East forward.

Akparanta who further decried the unemployment rate in Ukwa-East as worrisome, disclosed that this has led many tertiary institution graduates into Okada and Tricycle riding, among other meanre and dehumanizing jobs.

The youth leader who pledged continued support to Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu-led administration, also called on stakeholders to wake up and change the ugly narrative.
