Hon. Ibe Micheal Nwoko Lays Father To Rest Amidst Pomp And Pageantry

Former Obingwa Council Boss and YPP House of Representatives Candidate for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency,Hon Ibe Micheal Nwoko, Friday, laid his father Late. Chief Onwuegbughiaha Michael Nwoke, to rest in his Umuagwula,Obingwa LGA country home amidst pomp and pageantry.

The colorful funeral service,attracted the creme de la creme of Abia politics,Members of the House of Representatives, State House of Assembly, Commissioners, members of the political class as well as Captains of Industries, Market chairmen and executives, the academia, clergy, traditional rulers among others,including Former House of Representatives Member, Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Eziuche Ubani,
YPP Gubernatorial Candidate, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor and His Deputy, Dr Chima Anyaso.


Others include, Hon. Darlington Nwokocha, Representating Isiala Ngwa North and South Federal Constituency and Abia Central Labour Party Senatorial Candidate, Member House ofAssembly represnting Obingwa East State Constituency, Hon.Solomon Akpulonu, Comissioner for Agriculture, Prof. Ikechi Mgbeoji, Elder Godwin Nna, Hon. Mkpuruoma Aligha, Mr. Aaron Ikechukwu, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Lands, among other dignitories.

Speaking at the funeral service conducted by the United Evangelical Church, Umuagwula, Obingwa, the officiating priest, Reverend T.O Ikpeoha who eugolized the late Chief Onwuegbughiaha Michael Nwoke as a devote christian, said the deceased not only served God but trained his children in the way of the Lord and was devoted to the things of God till death and urged his children to continue in his legacies.


The clergy man used the opportunity to remind Christians of the need to live a life worthy of emulation as everyone would be remembered by the legacies while on earth and called on all to be conscious of where to spend eternity.


In his remarks,the YPP Guber Candidate, Engr. Enyinnaya Nwafor maintained that death is the way of all mortals described the late Nwoke as humility personified, a peacemaker and a man of integrity.

He recalled his encounter with the deceased while alive and urged the children never to loose sight of the right upbringing they got from him and prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the huge loss.

Also, the former House of Representatives member for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Eziuche Ubani, Hon. Solomon Akpulonu, representing Obingwa East State Constituency, among others who spoke to newsmen noted that the late Nwoke popularly referred to as “Dee Gbuh” was an upright man, devote christian and a man of his words.

They urged the children to walk in his shoes as he left no one he met without an impact.

In his tribute, the YPP House of Representatives frontline contender for Obingwa/Osisioma/Ugwunagbo Federal Constituency, Hon. Ibe Michael Nwoke described his late father as a father everyone would love to have, a cheerleader, devote christian, dedicated, focused and a great family man.

He revealed that his father’s death though shocking, thought him that nothing lasts forever noting that the family would arrive to keep his legacies alive.


Aged 78,the Late. Chief Onwuegbughiaha Michael Nwoke is survived by his wife, children, grand children and a host of other relations.
