Hiding The Truth In The Grave: Implications For Performance Of PDP In Abia State In 2023

Man has attempted with fair degree of objectivity to influence God’s creative arts, especially in the last two decades.

This drive has not been successfully achieved due largely to subjective nature of man. Thus, man has abysmally failed to understand that “no tree in human race grows downwards”. Indeed, trees all over the world grow upward and all forces(human, spiritual and scientific) lack the capacity to reverse this unique art of God.

In Abia State, some persons that occupy sensitive political positions under PDP are those that were either in opposition against us during the 2015 General Election or those who were residing out of the State during the fierce struggle. Thus, a situation where some persons who fought us in the 2015 political field, suddenly became our major policy agenda setters, is not only vexing, but also raises critical questions regarding why those marginalized should bet with their political blood in 2023 election in Abia State. This is a wrong political signals.

Certainly, any deliberate wrong doing by political actors or group of actors in a heterogeneous political system obviously enjoy gravitational ‘politicos’ during election. A situation where the political system deliberately failed to recognize those who actually lightened the political street lights, but preferred disjointed recruitment of rolling stones and political gypsies, ultimately impacts negatively, particularly during transitional elections across the world.

It’s on record that political gypsies and political rolling stones have continued to maintain their hegemonic control of Abia’s corridors of power by clamping down all dissenting voices over clear case of injustice, especially some individuals whose contributions led to our triumph in 2015.

Similarly, these heartless persons with deep vampirism have continually adopted several unscientific methodological orientation to stagnate some person as if trees grow downward in their villages.

They have only succeeded in enriching themselves and nothing more. Therefore, it will amount to burning candles at both ends if the 2015 political slogan of “fail and fail out and pass and pass in” adopted by Chief T.A Orji is also adopted to elicit unprecedented hardwork/performance from party faithful by Abia PDP in 2023.
That political dictum won’t work in 2023 and the reason is simple.

The application of that dictum has been grossly compromised. In politics, those who work should be the first to be rewarded. Thus, some politicians whose performance as TC Chairmen in 2015 are currently elected Chairmen, serving Commissioners and occupying various political positions in the State. The copies of results showing performance of PDP in each LGA, Wards and Polling Units are available to back up this claim.

All over the contemporary globe, the distribution of political resources are guided by political principle of Hardwork-Reward-further-Hardwork-Further-Reward methodology.

Politics is dynamic and those wishing to control the statecraft for authoritative allocation of scarce values or resources must be dynamic.

These is a causal relationship between politics and history and this largely explains why we have histo-political analysis of certain phenomena in our society. This includes performance evaluation of individual political actor after office, impact of government policies and programmes on the lives of people, etc.

For the avoidance of doubt, the 2023 Elections in Abia State will be keenly contested like the 2015 election. There is no doubt about this. It’s a transitional election and not consolidation election. All political actors and group of actors should have this in mind. Its going to be very peaceful and any candidate whose number of votes is the highest will be declared the winner.

As a game, no coach that wants his team to win any tournament, deliberately schemes out or selflessly keep his best players out of the pitch and still hope to win a match. In the game of politics, the almighty coach and his Political Hollandis always watch the political tournaments right inside their parlours on election day, after casting their votes in their nearby registered polling unit.

Consequently, what happens in other polling Units, ward collection centers, LGA Collection Centres and INEC Office at the State are simply beyond their capacities.

These are serious political processes that are deeply influenced by political party faithfuls right inside the field.

For the avoidance of doubt, Political Office-holders do not mould human beings during elections. A good political officer abhors primordial influences in his political recruitments. Thus, credibility, hardword, capacity to mobilize political forces for his party, experience to handle intended and unintended political phenomena, etc should be his compass.

He doesn’t necessarily need to like or love any political actor before considering him. Such primitive mindset is vindictive, barbaric and simple a variant of personal aggrandizement, capable of destroying his party’s chances in future elections.

However, many political pundits have been monitoring with keen interest all political activities and considerations in Abia State since 2015. The skewed political influences and aggressive penchant to play one group against the other have continually dominated the political scene. Some actors are deliberately scheme out and this may affect the performance of PDP in 2023.

These aberrant political behaviours need to be redressed to enable PDP fly in colours in 2023 election in Abia State. We must tell ourselves the truth and jettison current obscure mentality that trees grow downward in our climes. Trees grow upwards and not downwards.

Politics is dynamic and not static as erroneously perceived by some politicians.

The imperatives for changing our methodology as a party is strongly advocated. Otherwise, the outcome of PDP in 2023 in Abia State may lead to “scratching of eyelids by political actors and supporters”.
