Hajara Egbunu Becomes First Female Nigerian Army Warrant Officer

The Nigerian Army has decorated Hajara Egbunu with the rank of Army Warrant Officer.

 

Mathias Amatso, commander of the Nigerian Army Women Command (NAWC), conferred the new rank on Egbunu during a ceremony held in Abuja on Friday.

With this promotion, Egbunu has made history as the first female soldier from the elite Infantry Corps and the NAWC to achieve the prestigious rank of Army Warrant Officer.

 

The position of Army Warrant Officer represents the highest rank for non-commissioned officers and is the entry-level rank among commissioned officers.
