Two Civic groups, United Youth Association and Relief International Africa, have congratulated the Managing Director of
the newly inaugurated South South Development Commission, SSDC, Usoro Akpabio on the occasion of her 45th birthday.
The groups in their separate messages on Thursday June 5, extended their warm wishes to the MD and prayed her leadership continue to inspire hope and drive progress in the South South region.
The Senior National Advisor, Relief International Africa, Ambassador Alfred Etuk in his statement expressed confidence that Akpabio’s leadership would steer the commission toward inclusive growth, sustainable development, and effective service delivery.
While calling for strategic partnership with the commission for sustainable development of the region, Etuk said, “we celebrate you today, Usoro, not just as a leader but as a champion of development and peace in our region. Your dedication to the people of the South-South region is truly inspiring, and we are honored to work alongside you.”
He observed that such partnership would help in addressing nagging socio-economic and infrastructural challenges rocking the region.
The statement in parts, ”Relief International Africa looks forward to strategic collaboration with the SSDC under Akpabio’s stewardship to deepen impact, empower local populations, and address pressing socio-economic and infrastructural challenges. The organization is committed to working with the SSDC to drive positive change and progress in the South-South region.

on its part, the United Youth Association pledged its readiness to work with the commission in ensuring the implementation of policies for youth development as well as total development and progress of the region.
‘The organization is eager to work with the SSDC to implement initiatives that will benefit the youth and promote their well-being. The association believes that Akpabio’s leadership will play a crucial role in empowering the youth and promoting their participation in the development of the region. We are also confident that her leadership will steer the commission toward inclusive growth, sustainable development and effective service delivery.’ The group added.
