Group Compels Ogu To Present Himself For ONELGA Chairmanship

Ahead of the October 5, 2024 Chairmanship elections in Rivers state, various groups have signed an endorsement pact, compelling Kingsley Ogu PhD to vie for the chairmanship of Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA (ONELGA) owing to his capacity and reputation.

The crowd, including women, men, elders, youths, students, and non-indigenes, among others, endorsed and declared total support for Dr. Kingsley Ogu in a solidarity road walk from Okposi to Obrikom in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA of Rivers State on Saturday.

They described him as a philanthropist, liberator, administrator, and visionary leader who is best suited for the council job, being a vibrant, young, and altruistic leader who prioritizes the people’s security and welfare.

Speaking during the event, Comr. Paul Akute succinctly expressed that the solidarity march was their way of demanding good governance for Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni LGA and seeking a competent advocate to drive home the goal of a better ONELGA.

He maintained that after scanning the six zones of the LGA, they found a vibrant, intelligent, young, and smart leader in Dr. Kingsley Ogu, a man with remarkable antecedents who perfectly fits the call. Akute emphasized that they were not out to beg Mr. Ogu, but to compel him to present himself for the chairmanship to enable him to replicate the visionary governance of Gov. Siminalayi Fubara’s administration in ONELGA.

Contributing, Mrs. Okirata Sarah Fyneboy, who spoke on behalf of the women, said the call for Dr. Ogu is based on his gender-friendly attributes, which will give women the opportunity to be heard and governed rightly.

She stated that the choice of Dr. Kingsley Ogu will overturn decades of neglect and women’s marginalization in ONELGA, as evidenced by the various empowerment programs he has previously organized.

Mrs. Dinah Peter, an octogenarian who spoke on behalf of the elders, said their call is genuine, and if Ogu gives excuses about not having the funds, they will go ahead and pick the expression of interest and nomination forms for him to contest in the elections so he can bring his wealth of knowledge and experience to bear.

It was indeed a mammoth crowd of enthusiasts who acknowledged Kingsley Ogu as the liberator who should be enthroned to serve the interests of the masses. The student community and non-indigenes were not left out in the solidarity call, as they jointly endorsed the candidature of Comr. Kingsley Ogu for the October 5 Chairmanship elections in Rivers State.
