Governor Otti’s Aide Commends Abians for Enthusiastic Participation In Clean Up Exercise

 

The Special Adviser to the Governor on Due Process, Dr Oluebube Chukwu has commended the enthusiastic participation of Abia residents and the resounding success recorded in today’s Clean up exercise.

Dr Chukwu who participated in the exercise alongside the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Dr Caleb Ajagba and other government officials, monitored the exercise at the Isigate axis, Aba Road /Aba Park, Owerri Road, Uzuakoli road, Azikiwe road, Adelabu Street among other parts of Umuahia, the state capital.

 

 

The Governor’s aide while noting the importance of collective efforts in achieving a cleaner environment, expressed appreciation to the people of Abia for their active participation during the exercise and urged them to imbibe and sustain the culture of keeping their environment clean at all times.

He stated that the present administration of Governor Alex Otti has shown great dedication to addressing environmental issues in Abia State as well as ensuring public health hence the declaration of a state of emergency on waste management in major cities of the state.

 

 

Chukwu, further noted that the Otti led administration additionally, set up a dedicated task force on environment to oversee and enforce environmental regulations which he said, plays a pivotal role in monitoring waste disposal and implementing sustainable practices throughout the state.

He applauded the Chief of staff to the Governor Dr Caleb Ajagba for leading the charge towards ensuring a cleaner environment in line with the present administration’s objective of improving the living conditions of the citizenry.

 

 

While pointing out that “Cleanliness is next to godliness”, the Governor’s aide urged Abians to embrace and embody the philosophy in their daily lives by adopting cleanliness as a way of life and emphasized that Abians could set an inspiring example for other states in addition to positively impacting the state’s overall environmental health.
